When you think of homelessness, you probably think about the big picture: no job, no shelter, no security. But what about the little things, the things most people take for granted and don’t even think about? Things like a place to brush your teeth or read a magazine or even go to the bathroom without being hassled and looked down on. These little things take on huge significance to a person who has no home.
The Corpus Christi House (CCH), located at 525 Americana Blvd. in Boise, is a faith-based organization that puts hands and feet to the belief that all people deserve dignity, acceptance, and the basics needs of life. As such, volunteers are committed to showing love and mercy to Boise’s homeless by providing services that most of us take for granted.
Open Monday through Saturday from 8am to 5pm, CCH is a place where the homeless can get out of the weather, rest and relax, take a shower, wash clothes, check out employment opportunities, and make or receive phone calls. Whether they are temporarily or persistently homeless, those who seek help at Corpus Christi House are welcomed with compassion, friendship, and love.
